No último dia 10 de fevereiro teria sido comemorado o 80º aniversário do compositor Jerry Goldsmith. Infelizmente, ele perdeu a luta contra o câncer e faleceu em 21 de julho de 2004.Goldsmith é meu compositor favorito. Não devo passar mais de três dias sem ouvir alguma coisa que ele criou. Tenho hoje mais de 150 CDs com suas trilhas sonoras (parei de contar faz tempo). E olha que ele criou música para muitos filmes realmente horríveis!
Sua trilha mais famosa é a do filme "A Profecia", que lhe rendeu seu único Oscar, e é confundida por muita gente com Carmina Burana, que não tem nada a ver exceto o uso de coral de vozes.
Não sei dizer qual trilha dele gosto mais, mas arriscaria dizer que é a de "Alien - O Oitavo Passageiro" ou a de "Jornada nas Estrelas - O Filme".
É muito estranho ser abalado de forma tão forte pela morte de alguém que você nunca conheceu de perto. Falei dessa dor em um texto que escrevi no dia que recebi a notícia de sua morte.
